These two buttons are made of Extruded Celluloid and could be called rather ugly. They are both chunky and have a celluloid shank attached to the back.
METAL PICTURE BUTTON
At just under 4 1/2 cm this is a large button.
Within a decorative border there is an eagle standing on a globe. I do not know what it represents but there is probably a story to it.
METAL BUTTONS
These three brass buttons are all 2 1/2cm in diameter. They have a hollow back and each has a different design. They are all a sew through type.
BONE BUTTON
This triangular shaped button is of bone (probably cattle) and has been dyed a brown colour. A rather crude design has been carved into it. I would suggest that it is modern and comes from Nepal.
HORN BUTTON
I think this button is made from horn and is modern. The design is simple but very effective. It is a sew through type and measures 3 cm square.
LEATHER BUTTON
This button is unusual with two circles of wound leather thonging. They surround a flower made of I know not what (maybe a plastic of some type) The back is of tin. This button too I guess may have been worn on a leather coat.
METAL BUTTONS
These two buttons measure 3 1/2cm so are quite large. I think that they are both made of tin.
Their designs are so different; one being scrolly, the other having lines radiating out from the centre circle. They both have a tin back but the shanks are different.
GLASS BUTTON
This glass button is rather chunky and domed being in an oval shape.
It features s moulded swirly design in a pretty blue on a black base. It measures 3 1/2 cm X 2 1/2cm.
GLASS BUTTONS
These nine buttons are of aqua clear glass with a gold painted geometric design. They are diamond shaped and tiny with a self shank.
METAL PICTURE BUTTON
This button is of tinted brass and shows a man and a lady standing in a doorway.
Whether it represents a story or not I do not know but it is quite a nice button. It measures 3 1/2 cm.
