METAL BUTTONS

Here is a small group of metal buttons each with a different design and one with a different shape. They are all old buttons none of which are of any great value but just interesting.

BONE BUTTONS

Here are two modern carved bone buttons, one being an elephant, the other a bird. They are unique designs and I think they were made in Nepal. They are both sew through type.

METAL PICTURE BUTTON

This Metal Picture button shows the Actress Fanny Davenport on a patio with an umbrella. It has a painted background and some foliage. The open worked border shows a white metal rim beneath.

WOODEN BUTTONS

Here is a set of four painted wooden buttons each with a different coloured background. They have a skier painted on them in various colours and the paintwork is in excellent order which is great.

CERAMIC BUTTON

This button is quite large at 3 1/2 cm with a mixture of Orange and Metallic glazes. The central indented area has a pleasing mottley finish.

METAL PICTURE BUTTON

Here is a brass picture button depicting an Oriental lady with a sunshade beside a Pagoda. It is in high relief and has a Japanned back. It measures a little over 3 cm.

PLASTIC BUTTON

This is a modern plastic button measuring 3 cm. It has a flower design rising out of an embedded shape and has a self shank. I do not know it’s age but it was an opp shop find from a few years ago.

BLACK GLASS BUTTONS

Here are seven small black glass buttons with a silver lustre. They sort of replicate cut steel buttons and have a self shank. They are new to my collection having been bought in Gippsland while on holidays.

PLASTIC BUTTON

This is a modern button in a dark brown colour. It is a rather nice button with a wide panel through the middle which is moulded in a leaf like pattern. It does not show off to it’s best advantage in the photo but is quite effective.
