CELLULOID BUTTONS

These two Buffed Celluloid buttons are the same design of leaves only in a different colour. They show up nicely against the plain cream background. They have a celluloid shank and measure 2 1/2 cm.

SILVER BUTTON

This button features a scene from The Mikado. It shows two figures under a sunshade; one holding a fan. There are two more figures bowing down in front of them. A cherry blossom tree is at the right. It measures a little under 3 1/2 cm.

ANTLER BUTTON

Here is a small antler button with a silver escutcheon in the form of an acorn and oak leaves. It has a metal loop shank and measures 1 1/2 cm so is not very big.

SATSUMA BUTTON

This Satsuma hand painted porcelain button depicts a purple flower on a white background. It is also new to my collection. It measures a little under 2 1/2 cm.

SATSUMA BUTTON

This Satsuma button is new to my collection. It features a crysanthemum and white daisies and is all outlined in gold. It measures 2 cm so is not very large.

BIMINI BUTTON

This is a glass button made in England by Bimini. As usual it is backmarked Made in England and has the symbol flowerpot on the brass back plate. It measures a little over 3 cm.

M.O.P. BUTTONS

Here are three Mother of Pearl buttons which have all been carved in simple but effective patterns. They are all sew through type each with four holes. They all measure 3 cm.

CERAMIC BUTTONS

Here are three Ceramic buttons, two with an earthen coloured background and one with white. They are simple in design and I especially like the square one. It sort of suggests a flower to me. They are all sew through type and would look good on a homespun, handknitted cardigan in natural colours.

STUDIO BUTTONS

These two glass buttons were hand made by Di Bloomfield from Victoria. They are nice and bright with coloured designs on their backgrounds of orange and yellow. They have a glued on plastic shank and measure 2 cm.

LACY GLASS BUTTON

I love lacy glass buttons and they are very expensive if in excellent order. This one as usual is moulded glass in a diamond like pattern. It has yellow and red painting on the back and has silver lustre around the edge. It has a metal four way box shank and measures 3 cm.
