Here are two large brown bakelite buttons which are real chunky. One is carved and has an ornamental brass disc in the centre. The other one has a moulded brass rose which has been coated in brown. They measure 4 cm.
BAKELITE CLASP AND BUTTON
Here is a matching Cape Clasp and button of stamped brass and bakelite. They feature Gibson Girl within a wreath of flowers which is quite pretty. They are from the period 1915 – 1920. They are quite large at 4 cm.
BAKELITE BUTTON
This Bakelite button is a little unusual being set in brass and being square. It has been carved and has a brass cross in the centre. The brass back has been embossed in a floral design which is rather nice and quite different.
BAKELITE BUTTONS
Here are two rather nice Bakelite buttons which have been carved in definite patterns. They are both quite chunky and maybe would have been coat buttons. They measure a little over 2 1/2cm and have a brass loop shank.
BAKELITE BUTTONS
This group of laminated bakelite buttons are very colourful and in an Art Deco style. Two of them combine bakelite and wood. They are rather chunky and very striking in my eye.
BAKELITE & METAL BUTTON
This dark brown Bakelite button has a white metal escucheon in an Art Nouveau style. The flowers and swirly lines are very effective I think. It measures 4 cm so is quite large.
BAKELITE AND METAL BUTTON
Here is a lovely dark brown Bakelite button with a white metal escutcheon depicting a deer in amongst the pine trees. I think it is really nice. It measures a little over 4 cm.
BAKELITE AND METAL BUTTON
Made of brown Bakelite, this button has a centre of pressed brass with a geometric design which is rather nice. It is quite large at 4 cm.
APPLEJUICE BAKELITE BUTTONS
Here are two different Applejuice Bakelite buttons both being about 3 1/2 cm in diameter.
They have both been carved, one on the reverse side with paint added. The sew through one is a little darker. They are the colour of applejuice hence the name.
BUTTONS FROM ENGLAND – BAKELITE
I like these Applejuice bakelite buttons with a black centre. Although they are plain they look elegant to me. They are 2 cm in diameter.
