SUSAN CLARKE ORIGINALS
I bought these buttons at a Patchwork shop ten years or more ago. They are rather pretty with white enamel background and a little pink flower in a heart shaped brass button. I do not know anything about them.
Here we have a group of seven various Miniature Enamelled Brass buttons probably from the early 1900’s.
They range from 8 mm to the larger one in the middle being 15mm. Their designs are intricate, colourful and very appealing.
Here are two lovely little enamelled brass buttons.
They are tiny at just over 1 cm. and both have a white background with delicate little flowers on them which is common in a lot of Enamelled buttons. I especially like the design of the one with the four little bars of enamel work.
This button is enamelled brass and has a modern design in purple, red and green which is a little different. I actually have three of them.
I bought them at an opp shop and was pleased to find them. They are 2 cm in diameter.
Here is a group of nice bright yellow enamelled brass buttons.
They look smart just having two gold lines and edge, nice in their simplicity. I got them in the local opp shop and they are very well made.
This enamelled brass button is quite striking having a floral design on a black ground.
The cut steels set in brass around the outer edge give it a dramatic look. On the back you will see that these are all rivetted in separately. It measures 3 cm.
I think these two buttons are called cold enamel. They have a dull finish.
One is in greens and pinks with a blue flower. The second one is an Art Nouveau style with flowers on a white ground and lots of scrolls. It also has a scallopped edge. They are similar in size being 2 1/4 cm.
Here are two pretty enamelled brass buttons of the same design but with a different colour scheme.
The flowers show up nicely on the white background. The border is so decorative and very complimentary. They measure 2 cm x 1 1/4cm.
Here are two entirely different enamelled brass buttons.
One is large at 3 1/2cm with a sort of geometric design incorporating cream and blue enamel. The other is multi coloured with a floral design. It makes me think that it was a “practice button” as the colours and border design to me are a bit of a “hotch potch” (the computer doesn’t like that word!) when you look closely. (No rhyme nor reason) It measures 3 cm.
Two enamelled brass buttons are shown here.
One is a beautiful bright blue with a white centre and tiny pink flower. The other has a white background with pink and blue flowers. It has a gold scalloped edge.
