This metal button is realistic showing an insect on a leaf. The detail is fine and effective. I don’t think I would like to wear it on a garment but it is interesting anyway.
METAL BUTTONS
These two embossed brass buttons are ball shaped with a loop shank. They have been painted in two shades of blue. I do not know their age but believe that they are fairly old.

This is a modern realistic flower button. It is of metal which has been gilded. It was bought in Bangkok for me by my friend Lek. It is of good quality.

This is an open work brass button depicting a daisy. It is a sort of in the Art Nouveau style. The brass has been tinted green which makes it a little different. It measures a little under 3 cm.
METAL BUTTON
Here is a metal button, the centre being painted brass. It is embossed with a flower and ribbon design which is quite unique. I have no other buttons anything like it. There are a couple of scratches on the paintwork but it is otherwise in good order. It has a metal loop shank and measures 3 cm.
METAL BUTTONS
I bought these buttons at a Haberdashery/Gallery in an old church in Camberwell a few years ago. The floral design is quite appealing. They labelled them as 1920s – 30s. I like them anyway.
METAL BUTTONS
This group of silver buttons was a lucky find for me at an opp shop earlier this year. They were very dirty and I spent some time cleaning them but was pleased with the result. The theme is Oriental and shows a lady playing a musical instrument and a dragon like creature at the top. A bird is featured on the enamelled rectangle. I do not know their age but guess it may be early 1900s; anyway a good find.
METAL BUTTON
This button features the head of Medusa which is the symbol for the Versace fashion brand. It has a key patterned border and is a reasonable size at just under 3 cm. Giovanni Versace was an Italian Fashion Designer in the 1900s. Medusa who had hair of snakes comes from ancient Greek mythology.
METAL BUTTON
This is a two piece metal button. The brass decoration is of swirly lines with leaves and is very effective. It is open work and shows the background colour through. It measures 3 cm.
