PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here are two old plastic buttons with a circle of speckled bright green surrounding a domed white centre.  They have a small metal loop shank and are a little over 2 cm.

I do not know how old they are but would suggest that they are a similar age to the ones I have just posted yesterday. I think that they look smart.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here are three groups of old plastic buttons being striped, spotted and speckled.

They have a fresh look about them, some with black edges and some with white and all have plastic shanks.  I find them rather nice and they would look good on a simple cotton dress.

OLD PLASTIC BUTTONS

The colour of these buttons is a soft olive green.  They are simple in design with bevelled edges and a sort of chiselled out area.  I also show the back with their thread groove and self shank.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

This group of five plastic buttons are reasonably modern being all different colours with a white centre.

They are a little under 3cm. and have a plastic shank.  It is nice to find sets of buttons of the same design but different colour combinations  (as I have said before ).  I wonder how many were made of this type.  That makes the chase so much fun when you come across a matching button or whatever.

I bought the doyley recently at the opp shop in town as I thought it would make a nice backing for my button photos and I think it is ideal in this situation.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here we have three different lots of multi coloured buttons made of a plastic of some sort ( maybe casein )

Two are red, white and blue while the domed ones are red, white and black.  They are layered as can be seen in the photo.  I think that they are very eye catching.

PLASTIC BUTTON

Here is an old plastic realistic hat button.

It is decorated with some coloured flowers and has a sort of Tyrolean look about it.  I think these were made in various colour combinations but this is my only one.

PLASTIC BUTTON

This plastic button is modern (another opp shop find)  The purple and green on the black ground is very nice.  It has an irridescent look.  I love purple and green.  It measures a little over 1  1/2 cm.

OLD PLASTIC BUTTONS

I like these buttons with the pearlized mesh type centres.  They are the only two colours I have although I think other colours were made.

I believe they come from the 1950’d period.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

We have three different old plastic buttons here.

The yellow one has a cut out design as well as the olive coloured one (it may be Bakelite, I am not sure.)  The maroon one has a mottled look with an effective pattern.

I generalize with plastics as I can’t differentiate between all the different types.  Too hard for a little old lady like me!!!!!
