BEATRIX POTTER BUTTONS

Here is a Porcelain button with the portrait of Beatrix Potter ( 1866-1943 ) an English children’s book author and illustrator of the time. The other two buttons are plastic and feature two characters from her well known and loved books from all over the world. She led a lonely life and loved all her pet animals which inspired her to create the characters in her books.

SNAKESKIN BUTTONS

These buttons have been covered with snakeskin and have a tin back and loop shank. They have been coated with a high gloss finish which makes the pattern stand out well.

GIPPSLAND HOLIDAY

At present I am on holidays in Gippsland with my friend Margaret.  The other day we went for a drive to Noojee in West Gippsland.  We stopped off at Noojee Trestle Bridge nearby.  It was lovely in the bush surrounded by gum trees and tree ferns.  The bridge was so tall and was built in the early 1900’s.

PORCELAIN MINIATURE

We have just had our little local Button Group Xmas wind up for this year where we exchange a button or button related item.

This little Porcelain miniature was my gift.  It is a little English Button Shop and was made by Birchcroft of England.  I have some porcelain buttons also made by them.

BUTTON BRACELET

This bracelet was a gift to me from some button friends.  It combines buttons and scrabble tiles spelling the word buttons.  I have used it several times when giving a button display at a function.  It is rather unique.
