These modern plastic buttons have been around since the 1980’s.
As the name suggests, the top part of the button which has the shank snaps into the bottom piece which is a different colour. Many were imported from Japan, England and France. What a novelty they are and great for children’s clothes.
I have approximately 60 of these buttons sewn onto a banner and they are just a bit of fun and relevant to a period of fashion history.
The subject matters are many and varied and some that I show include busses and trains, elephants, penguins, cars, bears and beetles, just to name a few. What great buttons for children to collect and aren’t we all “big kids at heart!”
