Here are two Buffed Celluloid buttons featuring a bunch of grapes which are very realistic. They are two different colours, have a celluloid back and shank and measure a little over 2 cm.
PERFUME BUTTONS
Here are some Perfume buttons, some with the fabric nearly worn off. They come from the late 1890’s and early 1900’s and were very popular.
PERSPEX BUTTON
This clear perspex button has a floral design cut away on the back which shows through to the front. It is a sew through type and measures 2 1/2 cm.
STUDIO BUTTON
This button was made by Shirley Shaw from USA in 1989. It is in a Satsuma style (with two Oriental ladies and some writing on the left) and is very large at 6 cm.
PERSPEX BUTTON
These Perspex buttons also have a metalized plastic flower in the centre. They have been painted gold on the back which shows through to the front giving a good effect. They are just on 2 1/2 cm.
BUTTON BRACELET
This bracelet was a gift to me from some button friends. It combines buttons and scrabble tiles spelling the word buttons. I have used it several times when giving a button display at a function. It is rather unique.
PLASTIC BUTTON
This button was given to me by a lady from South Africa. It is rather unusual with a floral design on the front and an impressed geometric design on the back. It is a mottley apricot colour. I find it fascinating.
MOTHER OF PEARL BUTTON
I belong to a small button collecting group and each November we have our Xmas windup and swap a button to the value of $5.
This button was one of my gifts and I really like it. It is a MOP button showing a little girl with a red watering can. I guess it is transfer printed and it is just so cute. It was made in France.
BUTTON HOOK AND BOOT BUTTONS
Here is a button hook which I have just purchased. It has a bone handle. Also shown are some boot buttons; the button hook was used to do them up. They are probably from the early 1900’s.
STUDIO BUTTON
This button was made by F. Rossi from U.S.A. in 2010.
It is of Balsa wood and carved in the form of an owl. It has a simple charm about it. It measures a little over 2 1/2 cm.
