These three small brass buttons each have cut steels as part of the design and their detail is fine. They measure 1 1/2 cm.

EMBROIDERY IN FRAME

I was given this small round Pewter frame many years ago so did an embroidery to fit it. I used silk ribbon and thread. The embroidery measures 5 cm.

ROSE OF ENGLAND NEEDLECASE

Here is a plastic needlecase with yellow roses on the front. It was made in England and inside reads ” Golden Fleece – Perfection in Needlemaking.” I wonder what era it comes from – maybe the 1960’s.

PLASTIC BUTTON

This button measures 3 1/2cm and is of a grey plastic with a cut out design and it resembles a flower. It is also a sew through type button.

OPP SHOP FINDS

These buttons are of a cherry red plastic with a cream flowerlike design. There are two different sizes and they are a sew through button.

BRASS NEEDLE HOLDER

I have just acquired this needle holder. It is brass with decorative embossing on the outside. It opens up to reveal a spool of cotton and needles are held inside. There were many made of various materials in this style which is very compact and useful.

ENAMELLED THIMBLE

This thimble is really pretty being pale yellow enamelling with some hand painted flowers. It is silver with the top being matte clear glass and is marked STERLING, GERMANY. It is new to my collection.

MORE BAKELITE BUTTONS

Here is another group of Bakelite buttons of various designs and sizes, some carved, laminated and metal escutcheons attached. A lot of them are quite chunky. They have a good quality look about them.

CUT STEEL BUTTON

This brass button has been painted in a dull finish. It features eight cut steels on the outer and another eight oval shaped ones in the centre. It measures 3 cm.
