Here are three typical Blazer buttons. The subject matter of yachts, shields etc. are very common in this type of button.
COLOURED CLEAR GLASS BUTTONS
Coloured clear glass buttons were very popular a few decades ago. They were plain, moulded or cut and facetted giving them a sparkly look. Here we have four different colour schemes each with a variety of buttons both in design and size.
LINEN BUTTONS
These are very old Linen buttons on their original cards. One lot has brass eyelets with which to sew them on. The other group are perfectly plain back and front so need to be sewn on by catching a few threads of the material. They were machine covered and made during the 1930’s.
METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTONS

This group of buttons are Metalized Plastic which simulates silver. They are modern and I have got them all from Opp shops over the last few years. The designs are many and varied. Some of them imitate the old black glass buttons with silver lustre from the early 1900’s.
BLAZER BUTTONS
Blazer buttons is a common term for this type of button which was used a lot on blazers and jackets. These two are reasonably large at 3 cm. They are both a gold colour.
METAL BUTTON

Here is a metal button which has been painted black on the background. The geometric design stands out nicely in the gold relief. It measures 1 1/2 cm so is not very big.
OPP SHOP FINDS
I feel that these two buttons may be acrylic but am not sure. The gold circular pattern stands out nicely against the black background. They are more 2018 Opp shop finds.
METAL BUTTON

Here is a small brass button measuring 1 1/2cm. It features an anchor which sits on a blue tinted background.
NOVELTY BUTTONS

These two little imps have a cheeky look about them and make quaint buttons. They are not very functional but more for a craft project, e.g. a child’s library bag.
WOODEN BUTTON

This wooden button has a self shank. It has a colourful geometric design painted on it and would look nice on the right fabric. It is a modern button.
