GLASS AND METAL BUTTONS

I really like these two buttons and think they are quite showy. They are both black glass set in metal. Both borders are very decorative and set off the glass nicely. They measure 2 1/2cm.

SILVER BUCKLE

This silver buckle is EPNS and was made in England. Buckles of this type were often worn by nurses in England in the early 1900’s. It is quite pretty and decorative. I have seen similar ones on English shows on TV like Antiques Roadshow and Call The Midwife. It is new to my collection.

METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTONS

This trio are also of plastic, the colours offsetting the gold colour. They are rather glitzy and typical of this type of button from the 1990’s onwards era.

METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTONS

These two buttons have a sort of Art Deco look about them although they belong to the 1990’s period. They are metalized plastic with half the button being a white pearlized plastic.

BOXED SEWING KIT

I purchased this lovely boxed set of Bone sewing utensils at a recent Antique Fair in Cobram. It is in very good order and complete and includes the following: Two button hooks, a stiletto, a crochet hook, a Bodkin, a Needlecase, a Pocket knife, a Thimble and three packets of needles. I am very pleased to have it in my Collection now.

SILVER BUTTON

This domed silver button is a delightful design and has a central flower with four plain angled panels radiating from it. The remaining spaces are embossed making a nice contrast. It has a brass back and loop shank and measures 2 cm.
