METAL BUTTON

This metal button is modern. It has a pleasing swirly design embossed on it and has been coated with a goldish finish which has rubbed off the top surface showing a copper colour underneath. It is dome shaped and has a rather long self shank.

PLASTIC BUTTON

Here is a red moulded plastic button with daisies forming the design. It is very effective and has a self shank. It measures 2 1/2 cm.

HEIRLOOM CUSHION

Every part of this Heirloom cushion is hand stitched, from pin tucks to insertion lace etc. It was a lot of work but the finished product was well worth it. The cream on cream embroidery is a lovely effect.

PETIT POINT PINCUSHION

This pincushion is worked mainly in blues and greens and has a delicate appearance in it’s wreath of flowers. I made it approximately 30 years ago and was pleased with the result.

METAL BUTTON

Here is a white metal button with a floral design etched into it. The scallopy edge just sets it off nicely. It is a rather good quality button and measures just over 2 cm.

FABRIC BUTTON

This is a large button at 4 cm. It is of a tweed type fabric in a beautiful purple colour. It has a tin back and metal loop shank and was probably from an overcoat made from the same fabric.

BONE BUTTON

Here is a modern bone button probably made in Nepal. It is an oval shape and has been dyed brown. It is delicately trimmed with an embossed brass floral band with brass dots on either side and has a brass loop shank.

CASEIN BUTTON

Here is a log shaped Casein button with a cut away geometric design leaving a cream colour which I think has discoloured with age. The ends are shaped at an angle.

FABRIC BUTTONS

Here are two fabric buttons. One is of green woollen fabric with a pressed brass centre in a floral design. The other one is quite different being of red woollen fabric with a centrepiece of cream lace. They both have a tin back with a pad shank and measure just under 2 1/2 cm.

MODERN BUTTON

This is a showy button made of a gold metal which has an acrylic flower like pattern in a mustard colour embedded on the top. The back is tin with a loop shank and measures 2 1/2 cm.
