Here are three Fashion buttons depicting the Coco Chanel logo of back to back “C’s”. They are of metalized plastic and have a loop shank.
This fabric covered button is interesting having three holes with eyelets which is quite unusual. It measures 3 cm so is quite large; maybe a coat button.
Here is an original Beutron Button Card. The buttons were made in China and are plastic. The centre is of clear faceted plastic with gold coloured herringbone type inclusions. I got these at the opp shop recently and there was one larger loose button of the same design.
Here is a small group of some of the buttons I got from the Opp Shop recently. They are of various materials and designs. It is always fun to buy a bag of buttons for $2 or $3 , take them home and sort them to see if there are any treasures amongst them. It is as good as a Tatts ticket. I figure they are antiques of the future and part of fashions of the time.
This Metal Picture button is quite decorative with a brass bird and floral branch on a wood background. It has a decorative border to complete the picture and measures 3 3/4 cm.
Here is a hand painted porcelain button featuring a couple. The details are so fine right down to the buttons on the gentleman’s coat. The border is of enamelled brass in blues and purples which is a great addition to the overall effect. It is a very decorative button.
This is a nicely designed metal button which has been tinted purple. It has a white metal escutcheon with scrolly lines and flowers in fine detail in the centre. It measures 3 1/2 cm and has a metal loop shank.
These three fabric covered buttons make a colourful display and are actually made from old doyleys. The embroidery shows up nicely and makes them unique. They measure 4 cm and are just a novelty.
These Porcelain buttons were handmade by Jennifer Warburton from Australia in 2012. They have a Japanese influence not only in the designs but also in the blue and white colours (similar to the popular Willow Pattern) I like their modern simplistic style.
