These two realistic buttons have been painted in lovely bright colours and have a high glossy surface. They are more of a craft or patchwork button and are just a bit of fun.
FABRIC BUTTONS

Here are two old crocheted buttons which have been made over a wooden mould. As they are not perfect they have a real handmade look about them. I wonder if they were worn on a silk costume?
HEAD BUTTONS
Here are three buttons featuring heads. The two outside ones are metal and the centre one is metalized plastic which portrays Severus Alexander who was a Roman Emperor.
PLASTIC BUTTON

Here is a nicely cut out tulip design within a circle button. It may be bakelite; I am not sure but I like it. It is a nice size at 3 1/2cm.
FABRIC BUTTON
These two beaded buttons came from China in 2018. They have a flower in the centre surrounded by seed beads and are quite showy. They are rather large measuring 3 1/2 cm.
NOVELTY BUTTONS
These two realistic buttons are just a bit of fun. They are quite a modern image of a rabbit and a hippo. I bought them new in 2013.
MODERN BUTTON

Here is a very classy looking button of gold metal which has been enamelled in black. The gold bars across the centre are encrusted with four oblong pieces of glass which shine just like diamonds. It is a very heavy and good quality button. It measures just under 3 cm.
ENAMEL BUTTONS

This trio of modern enamel buttons are very nicely made. They have a circular type design with the enamel filling in the gold enclosures. The purple, red and green colours are quite striking. They measure 2 cm.
FABRIC BUTTON

Here is a modern button probably made in India. It has a background of black velvet with a red lacquered area where a red “gemstone” is set within a circle of pearls. A lot of gold work finishes it off. It measures 3 cm.
CUT STEEL BUTTON
This is a Cut Steel button from the late 1890’s to early 1900’s. The cut steels are facetted making them diamond like. You can see where they have been rivetted onto a back tin plate. It measures just under 3 1/2 cm.
