CELLULOID BUTTONS

Here are two lovely tan coloured celluloid buttons. They feature a geometric design of squares in gold which are very striking. They measure 1 1/2 cm.

WOODEN BUTTONS

These two wooden buttons are new and I have just bought them. The bright colours took my eye and I needed a cheer up. They have a really high gloss and measure a little under 2 1/2 cm.

PLASTIC BUTTON

Here is a rather unusual green plastic button which has been squashed in the centre giving it an odd shape. It has a brass flower shaped escutcheon in the middle which forms a loop shank at the back, Lots of buttons aren’t pretty and this one falls into that category but it is certainly different.

WOODEN BUTTON

This is quite a large wooden button measuring a little under 4 cm. It has a plaid like pattern in red and blue, is dome shaped and has a self shank. I guess it would have to be a coat button.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here are three chunky maroon plastic buttons which are probably coat buttons. They are just hollowed out and are sew through type. The photo doesn’t show the colour at it’s best but they are a beautiful cyclamen/maroon colour. They measure 3 1/2 cm.

BONE BUTTON

Here is a bone button which has been dyed with a rusty colour. It has a flower like design etched into it and is a modern button. It measures just under 3 cm.

METAL PICTURE BUTTON

Here is a Metal Picture button which has been tinted red. I find it very appealing. It has an embossed girl’s head within a circle finished off with a “leaf like” design around the bottom half. It measures just under 3 1/2 cm.
