CELLULOID BUTTONS

These three Celluloid buttons are bubble tops and are in earthy and black colours which were common in this type of button. They all have a japanned tin back.

ENAMEL BUTTONS

Here are two enamelled brass buttons both with a floral design. One has a blue and white background and the other all white. The flowers are simply done. They are a common type of enamel button but I still like them.

MODERN BUTTONS

These two buttons are made of some type of plastic and have a raised up floral design. They are an irregular shape which makes them just a bit different and are sew through type.

NEW BUTTONS

Here is a group of new buttons which I bought last Friday. We were going to be put into lockdown the next day so in desperation I went out and bought some buttons. They are all some type of plastic and just different designs. It got me out of the house for a while!

WOODEN BUTTONS

Here is a trio of new wooden buttons featuring different owls. I guess that they are transfer printed. They measure 3 cm and are sew through type buttons.

STUDIO BUTTONS

These two silver buttons with a pearl and an opal were designed by Sonia Collard from Victoria. “Pearly Shell” was made in 2017 and “Celtic Opal” in 2016. They are part of a set of five to be designed by Sonia and are a nice addition to my collection.

LITHOGRAPH BUTTONS

Here are three Lithograph waistcoat buttons featuring ladies in large hats. I’m sure those hats would be most uncomfortable. I think they would have been part of a set of six originally.

ANTLER BUTTON

This Antler button is rather small at just under 1 1/2 cm. It has a silver escutcheon depicting an acorn and oak leaf which is quite detailed. It has a metal loop shank.

GLASS BUTTON

This is a glass paperweight button. It is a lovely rich blue with white flowers and a pink bow. It has a metal loop shank and overall is a rather nice button.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

These two plastic buttons were painted in England by Edith and Alan Brooks during the 1960’s – 70’s period. They were often painted in sets of six of a set theme. These are the only two that I have in my collection.
