MORE BUTTON COVERS

Button covers were made to dress up plain buttons and alter the look of a garment. They were made in sets. Here we have four more; one has a sort of chain effect and the other has an orange rose. In the second picture one has a pearl insert and the green one looks rather like a lolly!

BUTTON COVERS

Here are some button covers which are quite a novel idea. Two are different gold designs while the other two have pearl inserts. They would certainly dress up some plain buttons.

SKETCHBOOK 4

These two paintings are a completely different subject matter. They were a challenge for me but I managed not too badly. The jug is kind of abstractish. The cherries are not quite ripe enough to eat.

SKETCHBOOK 3

Here are two bird paintings which I enjoyed doing. They are different to what I normally paint which has been mainly landscapes. I was quite happy with them.

GLASS BUTTON

This is a caramel coloured glass button in the form of a daisy. It is moulded glass and has a self shank. It measures 2 1/2 cm so is a good size.

METAL BUTTONS

Here is a group of small metal buttons which are rather nice but because of their age they are a little worn. Several are painted brass while one has blue velvet material in the centre. They are new to my collection.

SKETCHBOOK 2

These two paintings are totally different in subject matter and in style. I love the colours in the toadstool picture and the cup and saucer is bright and cheery. They were fun to do.

SKETCHBOOK 1

How about a change from buttons! I have just finished this sketchbook and here are two pages from it. They are both water colour with pen.

FABRIC BUTTONS

Here is a small group of old fabric buttons. Several are like a houndstooth fabric in teal, purple and brown. The large domed button has an interesting pattern in dull and shiny black. Maybe it is a mourning button. They all have a metal back with a pad shank.

GLASS BUTTON

Here is a brown glass button with a floral design in an Art Nouveau style. It has some silver and gold lustre which is a little worn but I think it is quite beautiful. It has a brass four way box shank with thread grooves. I have just acquired it.
