METAL BUTTON

This button is painted brass and is quite effective. One area is painted brown with the embossed floral design in cream which shows up nicely. The rest has also been painted cream. It has a brass loop shank and measures 3 1/4 cm.

PERSPEX BUTTONS

Here are two perspex buttons of similar design, one being green and the other amber. They both have brass wire wound around in a conical shape in the centre. The green one also has a white plastic disc under the wire making it a little different. I think they are from the 1950s.

METAL BUTTON

Here is a brass button featuring a flower, bud and leaves. It is cut away leaving a realistic shape within a circle. It has been tinted green giving it a good look.

PLASTIC BUTTON

Here is a cream plastic button with a white glass disc in the middle. It has a leaf design on it in gold lustre and is quite different. It measures a little over 3 cm.

PERSPEX BUTTON

This button is of clear perspex with a decorative filigree centre in metal. It is a very pretty design with a small flower in the middle. It measures 3 cm.

GLASS BUTTON

Here is a nice pressed cream glass button featuring a mill and water wheel. It has been painted brown and rubbed back to add to the detail and give it a very good look. It has a self shank.

GLASS BUTTON

This button is of black and blue glass and is oval in shape. The blue is only on the top and has black lines flowing through it. The button is moulded in a wavy manner and is highly domed. It has a self shank and measures 3 1/2cm x 2 1/2cm so is quite large.

BOXED SET OF BUTTONS

Here is an original boxed set of tiny enamelled brass buttons. They are a lovely bright blue with flowers on. The box is a lovely shape too.

BAKELITE BUTTONS

These two chunky bakelite buttons are carved nicely. They look good enough to eat! One is a nice shade of orange and the other is yellow (actually applejuice bakelite). They both have a metal loop shank and measure a little under 3 cm.

MOTHER OF PEARL BUTTONS

These three Mother of Pearl buttons have all been carved in basic designs. The colour of the shell in the second one is quite different to the other two. They are all four hole sew through type and are a reasonable size.
