Here is a white metal button which has a lovely ornate brass trim in an Art Nouveau style of leaves flowing in a circular motion. It is quite domed and has a hollow back.

This set of six pewter buttons were made in Norway. They were probably made in the 1960’s – 70’s period. Many made during this time featured snow related designs such as snowflakes and skiers etc.

This is a moulded white metal button featuring The Duchess of Devonshire. It is in high relief and is a 1940 reproduction of a 19th century button. My friend Olwyn bought it in 2011 at The Button Queen Shop in London.

This realistic button is Jemima Puddleduck one of Beatrix Potter’s story characters. Beatrix Potter was a popular children’s story writer and illustrator in England in the early 1900’s. Her first book was The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Her books are still being sold today. There have been lot of different buttons featuring Beatrix Potter’s characters made over the years and I have quite a few in my collection.

Here is a set of six Lithograph buttons from the 1890’s. They are men’s waistcoat buttons and feature beautiful ladies from the period. They have a split ring on the back to attach with the metal loop shank.

Here is a small group of buttons which I was given recently. It includes some plastics, a black glass with gold lustre, a mother of pearl and a metal head button. It is always exciting to be given some buttons.

Here are another three Buffed Celluloid buttons with a design of daisies and leaves. They are three different colours but of the same design. Paint is applied to the button and then buffed off leaving paint only in the incisions. It is quite an effective process. They measure a little under 3 cm.

These two Buffed Celluloid buttons are the same design of leaves only in a different colour. They show up nicely against the plain cream background. They have a celluloid shank and measure 2 1/2 cm.

This button features a scene from The Mikado. It shows two figures under a sunshade; one holding a fan. There are two more figures bowing down in front of them. A cherry blossom tree is at the right. It measures a little under 3 1/2 cm.

Here is a small antler button with a silver escutcheon in the form of an acorn and oak leaves. It has a metal loop shank and measures 1 1/2 cm so is not very big.
