I like Satsuma buttons especially those with figures on them which are a little harder to find. Here are two such buttons each with a single Geisha Girl. They are simple in design and the colours are pleasing. They measure 2 cm.

All things buttons & more …
This Satsuma porcelain button is very colourful and features a male figure.
I do not know who he represents but he seems a bit comical to me. There is a nice lot of gold work on it too. At just under 3 cm it is a nice size.
Here is another beautiful Satsuma porcelain button.
I am very fond of them, especially those with figures painted on them. It is a little bit different having the figure by a window. It measures just over 2 cm.
I bought these six buttons as a boxed set.
They feature a Japanese lady’s head and are just over 1 1/2cm.
I really like the Satsuma porcelain buttons with figures on them but they are much harder to find than the floral designs. I show the set as well as more detail.
Here are the seven Lucky Immortal Gods of Japan represented on these buttons.
They are Satsuma porcelain buttons full of colour and detail and I love them. I have mounted them on some old kimono fabric in a plain gold frame and they really look great.
Made in Japan, Satsuma buttons are very appealing to me. I especially like those with figures on them although they seem to be harder to find. The first group I think in general are older than the others. They also are not so brightly coloured as the newer ones. Many Satsuma buttons have floral designs. The painting is very intricate, especially the gold work.
Here are three very different hand painted Satsuma buttons from Japan, all of which I love. The third one I think is a little more modern than the other two and very colourful. The second with three ladies is a traditional type of design. The first shows a Geisha Girl with her sunshade and is really attractive. They all have the crackled glaze which is typical of Satsuma buttons.
I also show the back view of the Geisha Girl which in this case has been signed.
