Here are two more buttons from Sth. Africa. They are both striking and I love them. Being very chunky they would only be suitable for a very heavy overcoat but perhaps not so functional. They are Ceramic and are finished with a high gloss glaze.

All things buttons & more …
This is a real novelty button. It is yet another Ceramic button made in South Africa. What a fun design. I admire people who can come up with such great ideas. I once lived on a dairy farm but didn’t find cows so “cute” It measures just under 3 cm.
Here are two more cards of Ceramic buttons made by the Village women of South Africa.
One lot is a kind of knot design while the second lot just have a colourful abstract pattern. They have a unique home made look and I like them. As usual they are marketed on Corrugated cardboard which makes them stand out.
Although these Ceramic buttons are the same design they are “not the same.” That is the beauty of being hand made; they can not be perfect or exactly the same.
I bought the round one maybe 8 years back and was given the square one for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago. The round one is 3 cm. and the square one is 4 cm. As said before they are made in South Africa.
I do like these Ceramic buttons. They have a lovely handmade look and feel. They are both large; the black and cream one is 4 cm and the flower one is 5 cm. Being quite chunky they would need to be on a strong material.
I like the fact that the money from their sale goes back to the Village women in South Africa where they are made.
These Ceramic buttons are large at 4 1/2cm.
They are the same design although the different colour schemes makes them look “not the same.” They are made in South Africa and I bought them in Craft Shops. I find them fascinating.
These Ceramic buttons have been made by Village women in South Africa and the money raised by their sale goes back to the Village.
They have a great handmade look and they are always displayed on corrugated cardboard which shows them off to great advantage. These two cards have chooks and farm animals and were bought in 2010.
