CELLULOID BACKS

Here are two Celluloid Back buttons using  a fawn coloured Celluloid.  One has a decorative metal border and the other a delicate floral design in metal.  They are both very effective.

AUSTRIAN TINIES BUTTONS

I love Austrian Tinies buttons especially for the variety of materials and their fine detail.  They are mainly metal; some are tinted a colour and combined with celluloid, mother of pearl or cut steels etc. to give the amazing effects.

NETSUKES

Here are two carved  wooden Netsukes of Immortal Gods from Japan.  They were used to attach an Inro (purse like object) to the Obi (sash of the Kimono) They have two holes to thread the cord through.  The detail in the carving is cleverly done and they are little works of art.

CELLULOID BUTTONS

Here is a group of six Celluloid buttons of various designs and sizes.  They are all of earthy colours which were popular in the 1930’s and 40’s.  They blend nicely together in the frame.
