All things buttons & more …
Here are three more buttons which I bought recently in Melbourne.
One is of brass with black enamel, one a fawn pierced plastic and the final one is of orange plastic with black swirly lines on it. How modern they look.
This button is quite large at just under 3 1/2cm. It reminds me of the stone Tiger’s Eye. It is of some type of plastic and set into a metal rim and has a metal loop shank inset into the back. I think it is a smart button.
Here is another new button which I bought at Jimmy Buttons recently. It is very striking with the black and clear glass combination set in white metal. It would look great on a plain fabric, especially evening wear. It has a metal loop shank.
I purchased these two buttons in The Button Shop, Malvern this week. They are both black plastic imitating the black glass buttons from the 1900’s. What a great copy they are!
BEUTRON BUTTONS ON CARDS
Here are two more cards of Geometric designed buttons bought new in 2008.
I find the colours so striking and effective. How they would stand out on a garment. To me they just look great on the cards.
BEUTRON BUTTONS ON CARDS
I bought these carded buttons new in 2007 – 8. As can be seen they were made for Beutron in Thailand.
The geometric designs and colours grabbed me and they were a must have!! They are sew through buttons and measure 3 1/2cm. They are very good marketing with the buttons standing out on their black and white cards.
Made in China for Lincraft, I purchased this set of spotty wooden buttons in 2017. How colourful are they and wouldn’t they look great on the appropriate garment, probably something plain.
This is a large button measuring 5 cm and is rather striking with the black lace embedded in the middle. The plastic is clear allowing the black to show through nicely. I wonder what sort of garment you would use it on?
These two new buttons have a “stonelike” appearance to me. It is amazing what effects can be achieved with various forms of plastic.
They have a rough textured look and feel like something natural. I show the back of the darker one. They are sew throughs and measure 2 cm.
These “new” buttons have been bought in shops in the last 10-12 years and I keep them together in a box marked so.
The two cream coloured plastic buttons are rather quaint with their modern stylized cat pictures on them. They are a little over 2 1/2cm and are sew through buttons.
