Here are seven white glass buttons with a metal pin head shank. They are similar style to the plastic nurses detachable buttons but I do not know if that is what they are.

Here is a lovely selection of Metal Perfume buttons from the period 1837 – 1901. They all have fabric included in their design especially velvet. The designs are many and varied. I can smell the perfume when I open the box in which they are displayed.

Here are four nice groups of small metal buttons from the Victorian period of varying designs and sizes. They are all beautiful in their own way.

Here are three tiny enamel buttons in the prettiest of green colours. In reality they are much nicer; more a pale apple green. They are modern and have little flower like patterns in gold around the edge. They measure 1 cm and have a metal loop shank.

This original button folder from the 1880’s is rather worn but still intact. It measures 26cm X 35cm so is quite large. It contains fresh water pearl buttons graduating in size. Inside the folder at the top are prices per gross and pencil markings by the sales rep.

I am rather fond of these buttons as their handmade appearance has a real charm. They are made of silk thread wound over a wooden button mould then stitched or crocheted in a star like pattern over the top. I guess they would have been worn on a silk outfit probably from the 1890’s – 1900’s period.

Here are twelve small metal buttons trimmed with brown suede and cream celluloid. They are very effective. They have a japanned back and metal loop shank.

Here is an oval white glass button with a Cameo type lady’s head on it. It has a painted purple background and an ochre wash over the hair giving it a really nice look. It has a self shank.

Here is a horn button which has been inlaid with both silver and brass. It has a flower and a bird finely crafted on it. The border is also inlaid silver. It has a brass loop shank and measures 2 1/4 cm.
