This button is of black and blue glass and is oval in shape. The blue is only on the top and has black lines flowing through it. The button is moulded in a wavy manner and is highly domed. It has a self shank and measures 3 1/2cm x 2 1/2cm so is quite large.
Here is an original boxed set of tiny enamelled brass buttons. They are a lovely bright blue with flowers on. The box is a lovely shape too.
These two chunky bakelite buttons are carved nicely. They look good enough to eat! One is a nice shade of orange and the other is yellow (actually applejuice bakelite). They both have a metal loop shank and measure a little under 3 cm.
These three Mother of Pearl buttons have all been carved in basic designs. The colour of the shell in the second one is quite different to the other two. They are all four hole sew through type and are a reasonable size.
This is a beautiful little button with a portrait of a lady in delicate colours. It measures 1 1/2 cm and is much prettier than the photo depicts.
These coconut shell buttons are modern but are very collectable. They are painted or embossed in various designs and are just a nice splash of colour. I have quite a few in my collection.
This group of three ceramic buttons were made in South Africa by some local village ladies. It is nice to support them by buying their buttons and I have quite a few. These three are all large and quite dramatic.
Here are two hand painted porcelain buttons set in a nice white metal ornamental border. They both have a delicate floral design. The backs of the buttons are quite interesting too. They were made in Russia.
Here are two enamelled brass buttons with blue and white backgrounds. One is pierced and has blue leaves and small flowers. The other has a pink rose in the centre. They are both approximately 2 cm in diameter and have loop shanks.
Here is a glass paperweight button in a beautiful bright blue colour. I has three white flowers and leaves in it and has a brass loop shank. You always get some lovely colours in glass and this is no exception.
