Buttonsplus

These two buttons are modern and are very bright and colourful and I think come from about the 1970s. They are gilded metal and being square are just a little different. They are much richer in reality.

I only have very few Lea Stein buttons and here are three of them. They have a unique style of their own ; the combination of colours very effective. They were made in France during the 1960s. They are becoming to be quite expensive.

Here are two Cut Steel buttons quite different to each other. One has a spray of flowers on a basket weave type background. The other features three leaves. I always wonder who designed all these buttons.

This is my only Marion Weeber Celluloid button and I am glad to have it. It resembles a basket of fruit and is quite colourful . Her buttons were mainly realistics and quite unique. It has a celluloid shank and measures 3 1/2 cm.

Here are three more basic Celluloid buttons but I love their colours. I have these ones sewn on a banner with many other of similar size and they make quite a nice show. They are all sew through type.

Here are three Celluloid buttons. I love their earthy colours and the geometric designs. The blue and green one just shows that those two colours can be seen together! The black and grey is dramatic and the orange is just a cheery colour.

I love these two Bakelite buttons. They are both really chunky and have carving on them. The colours are jazzy too; the one on the left being an apple juice Bakelite. They are not large for Bakelite buttons and measure 2 1/2 cm and have a metal loop shank.

I wish all button collectors a very Merry Christmas and may 2026 be a year of good health, much happiness and the hope that we find some nice buttons for our collection. These two buttons are ceramic and were given to me by a friend.

I have not had this button for very long and bought it from a lady who had quite a few enamel buttons for sale and it was a good opportunity. I do not think the colours are particularly pretty but it is a little different having open work and a cut steel border. It is reasonably large at just under 3 1/2 cm and has a metal loop shank.

Here are two cross stitched tartan buttons which I made in 2023. They were very fine to do and took quite some time. My friend Jackie gave me the pattern.
