BAKELITE BUCKLE AND BUTTON

Here is an Applejuice Bakelite Buckle and button. The buckle is large at 8 cm X 7 cm. The button measures 4 cm and has a pattern carved in the middle and around the edge. They are new to my collection.

ART DECO BUTTON

This Art Deco button is rather showy being black with cream plastic coated wire wrapped around it forming two elliptical shapes on the front. During this period buttons were made from whatever materials were readily available.

CELLULOID BUTTON

Here is another large Celluloid button this time with a floral design in a “paisley like” style. It really stands out with the red and black outlined in gold. It is a little different being square with rounded corners.

CELLULOID BUTTON

This is a large Celluloid button square in shape with rounded corners. The middle oval section has black and green markings on a yellow background. The outer spaces are black and have a lovely embossed design. It is a rather nice button.

LITHOGRAPH BUTTON

Here is a Lithograph button featuring a lovely portrait of a young lady in a bonnet. It is set in brass and has a border of small circles of Celluloid I think. It belongs to my friend Carol and is a very fine example.

CELLULOID BUTTONS

Here is yet another colourful group of Celluloid buttons. They are varied in design including spirals, birds and flowers which are all very interesting. Some have celluloid shanks and others are sew through type.

GLASS BUTTONS

Here are two Czechoslovakian glass buttons of the same design but in different colours. It is surprising how different they look. They are square with a floral design and have a four way metal box shank. I think they are reproductions.

CELLULOID BUTTONS

Here is a lovely group of Celluloid buttons of all shapes, sizes and colours. Quite often Celluloid buttons are of a sombre tone but these are quite colourful and cheery. What a nice picture they make.

CELLULOID BUTTON

This is a Celluloid Wafer button of a most unusual colour combination of an apricot, grey and black which is rather appealing. It is a sew through type and quite large.

ENAMEL BUTTONS

Here is another lovely group of enamel buttons belonging to my friend Carol. She has a wonderful button collection. These are many and varied in colour and design. Florals are always popular in enamelled buttons. The colours are so rich.
