Here are three light blue glass buttons with silver lustre.
I have seen this button design in different colours. They have a self shank and measure approx. 2 cm.
GLASS BUTTONS
FABRIC COVERED BUTTONS
My friend Di bought these Fabric covered buttons recently for me at a market.
They are of Japanese fabric and are currently being made. The colours are nice and bright and cheery.
METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTONS
Here we have two groups of silver metalized plastic buttons from the 1990’s onwards.
The designs are many and varied from floral, geometric and swirly patterns. I have gathered these buttons from opp shops over the years.
PASTE BUTTONS
Here are two sparkly buttons made of filigree white metal with a large clear paste centre.
They have a metal loop shank and are a little over 2 cm.
ENAMEL BUTTONS
SUSAN CLARKE ORIGINALS
I bought these buttons at a Patchwork shop ten years or more ago. They are rather pretty with white enamel background and a little pink flower in a heart shaped brass button. I do not know anything about them.
BAKELITE BUTTONS
These three Bakelite buttons are mottled colours of Blue, Red and Green.
They are two layered with a complimentary colour. The cut away design shows the colour underneath and they are a little unusual being oval shaped.
PLASTIC (BEUTRON) BUTTONS
These plastic buttons were made for Beutron in the late 1960’s.
They are all sew through type and their colours are subtle compared to colours used today. They may be rather plain but the colours blended nicely or were a great contrast to the colours of the fabric of the day.
PASTE BUTTONS
The first button is of white metal with seven purple paste stones glued into a diamond pattern and is rather smart.
The second one has a large paste stone set in the middle being surrounded by many small pink stones. They are both quite glitzy and would really show up in the evening light.
BAKELITE BUTTONS
This group of Bakelite buttons are all in the shade of brown. Two are very unusual shapes; one a long log type the other a rectangle. They have a nice look and feel about them.
OLD MOULDED TIN BUTTONS
Here are three groups of Moulded Tin buttons, some from the 1920’s and some from the 1940’s.
They all have a tin back and shank. The designs are varied, some with dotted patterns, some with flowers etc.
