This is a Victorian glass button in a very delicate pale blue with a touch of pink in the flowers. It is sort of Art Nouveau in style. It has a metal four way box shank and measures a little under 2 1/2 cm.

This button is known as “crystalized tin” and dates from the late 19th century. It is first lacquered in a dark colour then the design is etched through the colour to reveal the tin base showing a frosty silvery image. This particular button has a figure on it. It is not a very big button and is hard to photograph.
