OLD BUCKLES

These three buckles are all of a metal filigree design each incorporating coloured “paste” stones.  They are quite delicate and would show up nicely on a fairly plain fabric.

METAL BUTTONS

The large button has a floral and basketweave pattern painted in various colours.  It is open work showing a mirror back and measures 2  1/2 cm.

The two small buttons at approx. 1  1/4cm are pressed and painted brass in a floral design.

DORSET BUTTONS

My friend Julie made these two buttons and gave them as a birthday present.  What a nice gift for someone who collects buttons and has been a sewer.

OLD BUCKLE

We are looking at buckles today.

This buckle is rather large at approx. 9 cm x 4 cm.  It has a great Egyptian influence with a Sphinx head in the middle.  The base is decorative brass with four green stones claw set in the corners.  They appear to me to be carved Jade.  It would certainly make a statement on the right outfit.

DIAMENTE BUCKLE

This is a beautifully designed buckle.  The shape is very effective being a blunt ended diamond.  There is a variety of size in the Diamentes which are claw set.  It is so sparkly and does not show to real advantage.

CELLULOID BUTTONS

No. 1  is Buff and Black coloured Celluloid with a brass trim.  It is 3  1/2cm in diameter.

No. 2  also is a Buff and Black colour with a floral design.  It is a little smaller at 3 cm.

NEW BUTTONS

BEUTRON  BUTTONS  ON  CARDS

I bought these carded buttons new in 2007 – 8.  As can be seen they were made for Beutron in Thailand.

The geometric designs and colours grabbed me and they were a must have!!  They are sew through buttons and measure 3  1/2cm.  They are very good marketing with the buttons standing out on their black and white cards.

FABRIC BUTTON

I was given this button as a blank and inserted the piece of fabric and snapped in the clear plastic cover.  My friend told me that it was called a Window Button.  Just another type of button to add to all the others.

DISNEY BUTTONS

These buttons were made in Taiwan and China and packaged in USA for “Dress It Up” Buttons.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse are very popular Disney cartoon characters and there are three buttons in each pack all in a different pose.  How cute are they! I bought them in 2016 and was thrilled to get them.  They are of plastic in a snap together style. I have shown the back view of Mickey.
