Here are two realistic glass buttons in the shape of Japanese lanterns. They both have silver lustre on the top and bottom and the green one has some Oriental decoration on it. They have a self shank and are quite fascinating.

This is a realistic metal button depicting an insect sitting on a leaf. It has good detail. I’m not sure that I would want an insect button on a garment of mine but it is interesting anyway.

This square button measures 3 1/2cm so is reasonably large. It is of orange plastic and has a cream band of Celluloid diagonally across it. I think it may be from the 1930’s.

Here is a group of four Austrian Tinies buttons. I find then most fascinating with their very fine detail and the variety of materials used in their construction. They were mainly made in Austria thus the name.

This group of six small Celluloid buttons are very colourful. They are simple in design but very effective and are sew through type with two holes. They measure just over 1 cm.

Here are three more Opp Shop finds. They are modern plastic buttons being white with a textured black border around the edge. There are two different sizes and they are sew through type.

Here is a lovely oval shaped carved wooden button. It has been highlighted with orange, white and gold paint. The border is of a floral design. It was bought in 2013 at The Button Queen Shop in London for me by my friend Olwyn and I was thrilled to get it.

This is a nice sized Celluloid button at 3 1/2 cm. It has a nice range of colours including tan, black, gold, red and ochre in a striking geometric design. It has a japanned tin back as is common on many Celluloid buttons.

These three buttons are really glitzy with a border of diamantes set in gold metal surrounding a black domed centre. They have a gold metal loop shank and are of good quality.

Here are three Fashion buttons depicting the Coco Chanel logo of back to back “C’s”. They are of metalized plastic and have a loop shank.
