Here is a group of Celluloid buttons which I have displayed in a frame. They are various sizes and colours and are sew through type. Quite a few have geometric designs and come from the 1930’s.

Here is a tin button with a simple design of three ridges across it to one side. It has a tin back also. I guess it maybe from the 1940’s.

Here is a small group of Fashion buttons from the current period. They represent makers of fashionable clothes and are a good way of advertising them.

These lime green buttons are some type of plastic and have inclusions in them that appear like sawdust. They measure 3 3/4 cm and were part of a Xmas gift from my nephew.

These three coconut shell buttons have a coating of teal blue and lacquer applied to the front. They have a brilliant sheen and measure 3 cm. The second photo is more accurate in colour. They were a present from my nephew.

These three black glass buttons all have gold lustre and a self shank. One has lines in a star shape and one has a grid with small flowers scattered around. The other one has a daisy covering the whole button. Unfortunately they do not photograph well.

Here are three modern large coconut shell buttons at just under 4 1/2 cm. They have an at random cut out design and are sew through type. They were part of a Xmas present from my nephew which was a nice surprise.

These three buttons were given to me for Xmas by my friend Di. I believe they may be Horn and two have a circle of bone embedded in the centre. They each have some carving on them and are quite large at 3 1/2 cm and 4 cm.

We have just had Christmas and here are two button covers depicting Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. They are made to clip onto a plain button thus dressing it up. These ones are of course just a bit of fun.

This metal picture button features a basket of fruit and flowers. It has a rope like border finishing it off. It measures 3 1/4 cm and has a metal loop shank.
