Here is a modern metal button in a square shape. It has an abstract appearance with several squares patterned on it and has a self shank. It seems like Pewter but I am not sure.
METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTON
This button is modern and square shaped. It is quite detailed with what appears to be a man on horseback with maybe a rifle. The foreground shows grass and I think two ducks flying off. I guess it is a modern version of the Metal Picture buttons of the early 1900’s.
BUTTON GROUP
Our little Button Collector’s Group got together last Friday. Our topic was clear and clear coloured glass buttons and we had a nice selection as there was only three of us present. Some were facetted and others moulded but they all have a nice sheen. We had a fun afternoon as usual. Here are a few of them.
CERAMIC BUTTONS

These buttons are hand painted Ceramic and are modern. They are nicely painted and outlined in black giving them a very good look. We have Cherries, Grapes, Water Melon and an Apple. They are sew through type and measure 1 1/2 cm.
LEATHER BUTTON
Here is another Opp Shop find. It is a modern black leather button in a flowerlike shape interlaced with white thread. It has a metal loop shank.
BLACK GLASS BUTTON
This is a black glass button with a gold lustre featuring a Galleon Ship in full sail. I have just obtained it from an Opp shop in Euroa and it was a good find. It has a self shank.
FASHION BUTTON
Here is a metal button showing a shield with H.B. on it. Above the crown is written Hugo Boss. Hugo Boss AG is a German luxury Fashion House with headquarters in Metzingen. It was founded in 1924 by Hugo Boss and originally produced general purpose clothing. Hugo Ferdinand Boss (1885 – 1948) was a German Fashion Designer.
SATSUMA BUTTON

This Satsuma button is new to my collection and was given to me by my friend Carole. It is reasonably small at 1 1/2cm and is covered in little “butterfly like” markings in various bright colours. It is edged with a rim of gold.
BEUTRON BUTTONS
Made for Beutron in the 1950’s, these buttons have a disc of green plastic surrounded by a decorative gold border which offsets it nicely. I have a copy of a Button Advertisement from The Women’s Weekly of 1952 showing these buttons.
GLASS BUTTONS

These two clear blue glass buttons are such a beautiful colour. They are square in shape and have been facetted which gives them lots of sparkle.
