These two perspex buttons are completely different in their design. The round one has a floral design carved out on the back which shows through to the front and it is a sew through type. The square one has bevelled edges and a metalized plastic rose embedded in the centre and has a metal loop shank . Perspex did come in a few colours but the clear seemed to be the most popular.

This is my only Cinnibar button and I have a buckle as well. The most common colour is red but it is made in a few other colours. It is mounted in tin which is also painted red. It is carved in a floral design and measures just over 3 cm.

Here is a group of Batchelor buttons, some of stone mounted in brass and one brass button. They don’t need to be sewn on but are clipped into position. You can see the back mechanism where you squeeze the two outer levers to release the back; somebody’s clever invention.

This is a transfer printed porcelain button which I think is fairly old. It shows a pretty young lady in a blue dress with pink flowers surrounding her head. It has been highlighted with gold paint. It measures a little over 2 1/2 cm. I wonder what type of garment this button may have been used on.

Here are two of my collection of Cut Steel buttons. They are metal buttons with the Cut Steel trim which in these two cases are quite large. Some buttons are entirely made up of cut steels rivetted onto a tin plate so it is nice to have some of each type.

Here are three metal buttons each featuring a head with different headwear. It would be interesting to know who these people are and if they were someone of note. The one in the middle has a cut steel border and is the largest at a little over 1 1/2cm so they are not very big.

Here is a light grey glass button with sides decorated in a mixture of blue and green which is quite bright and colourful but does not show to advantage in the photo. It has a metal shank and measures 2 cm.

These three white glass buttons are fairly modern in design but with the metal four way box shank I think may have a bit of age. The design is sort of abstract and to me doesn’t represent anything in particular. They measure a little under 1 1/2 cm so are not very big.

Here is a set of Lithograph Men’s Waistcoat buttons which would have originally been six buttons. They feature a fox’s head and perhaps go under the category of sporting buttons. I have had them for a long time.

I have just realized that I posted the Peasant Buttons about a month ago! It is amazing that I don’t do it more often as I post a photo on Instagram, my website and Button Banter so that is three different sites. Never mind, it could be worse. So my apologies for this error.
