
Here is a set of Lithograph Men’s Waistcoat buttons which would have originally been six buttons. They feature a fox’s head and perhaps go under the category of sporting buttons. I have had them for a long time.

I have just realized that I posted the Peasant Buttons about a month ago! It is amazing that I don’t do it more often as I post a photo on Instagram, my website and Button Banter so that is three different sites. Never mind, it could be worse. So my apologies for this error.

This is a set of European Silver Peasant Jacket buttons which are coinlike and dated 1780. The coin is a Thaler which was originally struck in Austria from 1740 to 1780. They show the reverse of the actual coin as a combined Coat of Arms of Imperial Austria. Around the edge is written ARCHID-AVST DUX BURG CO TYR 1780 X. It is Latin and translates to Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol which is the Grand Title of Maria Theresa who is on the front of the actual coin.
