GLASS BUTTONS

These two small domed glass buttons are quite pretty with pink flowers and blue dots painted on their white background. They have a brass loop shank.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Both of these buttons are decorated with plastic coated wire wound in different designs. They don’t have a shank as such and can only be sewn on through the wire at the back.

COMPUTERS !!!

My computer won’t allow me to post photos at present so I am very frustrated. I don’t know what the trouble is or what to do about it so Buttonsplus will be a bit quiet for a while. Apologies!

NEW BUTTON

This button is a gift from my friend Di and is new to my collection. It is a nice button and I believe the centre piece which has been inset is bone. It is quite large at 4 1/4 cm.

METAL BUTTONS

Here is a group of three metal buttons with different coloured gemstones set in them. They are beautiful rich colours. The buttons are very heavy so would need to be on an overcoat or the like.

FABRIC BUTTON

Here is a grey fabric covered button that is a little different. It has three sewing holes with black metal eyelets and a tin back. Two or four holes are more common.

FABRIC BUTTONS

Here are three hand embroidered buttons with a floral theme and different colour schemes. They were just a bit of fun to do.

MORE METAL BUTTONS

One of these metal buttons is tinted purple and has a white metal decorative escutcheon. It is rather nice. The other one is of white metal with a flowing leaf like brass decoration.

MORE METAL BUTTONS

Here are two completely different brass buttons. One is of flowing lines and I don’t know if they are meant to be leaves. I remember getting this button at an opp shop and it was filthy. I was tickled pink when I cleaned it up. The second one has a nice border and the centre is filled with brass and cut steels.

METAL BUTTONS

Here are two more metal buttons. One has a tinted background in a dirty green over which a raised floral design is made. The other one has a narrow decorative border under which is a white metal rim. A panel goes across the centre which shows painted leaves that contrast nicely with the painted black background.
