These two metal buttons have been tinted a bright blue. The oval central section is of celluloid with a little blue flower painted on it. They have a japanned back and metal loop shank and measure 13 mm so are reasonably small.

Here is a pair of metal buttons in two sizes. They have a lady with flowing hair like a cameo in white metal which is set into a gold cup. I believe they were made in Italy in 1997. They are very solid and quite heavy.

These two enamel buttons I think are from the 1970s. They have geometric designs and are of brilliant colours which stand out from the gilt outlines. They are well made and quite heavy.

Here are three novelty ceramic buttons. They are glazed with lovely bright colours. There are two cotton reels and a thimble. All of them are sew through type and would be good for a craft project.

This button is brass and has been painted green. It has a cut out oval which is filled with a plaited narrow type of ribbon in a neutral colour. A large bow of moulded brass drapes down from the top of the button. It measures a little over 2 cm.

These are two modern enamel buttons which I think were made in Japan. They both depict flowers, one on a blue background and the other on red. The flowers are outlined in silver making them stand out nicely. They have a metal loop shank.

These two buttons are the same design but of different colours. They are of plastic with a hollow centre which has been filled with wound up corded braid in the same colour as the plastic. I imagine they would go on a cape or jacket.

Here are two silver buttons hand made by my friend Di. She had just learned how to make them and gave them to me as a Xmas present which was a lovely surprise.

Here are two Uranium glass buttons in the form of a flower. The first photo shows them in normal light and the second one is under an Ultra Violet light which makes them glow green. They have a silver painted back with a four way metal box shank.

This button is of brass with a claw set paste circle surrounding the central fawn glass disc. A tiny white cameo of a lady’s head sits upon the glass. It is a pity that the cameo is cracked. The button measures 2 3/4 cm.
