VEGETABLE IVORY BUTTON

This is a vegetable ivory button set with turquoise and carved and dyed around the border. It was made by Bob Benson from USA in 2012. The turquoise stone is more green in reality. It measures 4 1/2 cm

ENAMEL BUTTONS

Both of these enamel buttons have been embellished with cut steels and have some open work. The red and blue one has white flowers while the orange one has a pink rose on a white background. These colours are not as common as many other enamel buttons. They are just a little bit different.

METAL BUTTON

Here is a purple tinted metal button which I rather like. It has a white metal decorative escutcheon in the centre surrounding a central piece which is a pink colour. The border is perfectly plain so doesn’t take away from the decoration. It has a brass look shank and measures 3 1/2 cm.

PERSPEX BUTTONS

Here are two groups of clear Perspex buttons each with a brass or white metal centre piece which have various designs on them. One even has a horse and rider pictured. They are from the 1950s era.

BUTTON CARDS

These two original button cards are in a good condition which is always good. They have nothing written on the back but I guess they may come from U.S.A. I think the one on the left is older than that on the right. They are both 10c so are fairly old. I just enjoy the art work on them; all part of advertising.

BUTTON CARD

Here is an Original Bluebird Pearl Buttons card which was made in U.S.A. It is great to get buttons on their original card especially when it is in good order. I find that the art work is always interesting and this card is no exception. It is also good to see any written work on the back. The art work is nice and colourful too.

BAKELITE BUTTONS

Here are three large Bakelite buttons. They have each been nicely carved in a pattern. Many of these chunky carved buttons were in browns and black as must have been a fashionable colour of the day. They each have a metal loop shank.

BAKELITE BUTTON

Here is a bakelite button which has been carved and set in brass. It has a brass cross in the centre. The brass back is quite interesting too with a floral pattern pressed into it.

METAL BUTTONS

Here are two modern metal realistic buttons, one being a cat, the other a bee. The cat is of brass and the bee a white metal. They are quite finely made.

METAL BUTTON

This button is modern and is of white metal which has been painted black and rubbed back. It depicts a deer which has been moulded into the metal. It measures nearly 3 1/2 cm so is quite large.
