NEW BUTTONS

Here are two more new buttons which I bought in 2012. The triangular one is plastic with a shell centre. You can see the back of the shell as the button is openbacked. The round button is metal with a shell like disc in the centre.

MORE NEW BUTTONS

This group of seven black buttons are rather showy and are also from The Button Shop, Malvern. One has diamentes, two have cord trim and one is beaded. Two are plastic black glass look alikes. The other one is finely etched showing the underneath cream colour. They make a rather nice group.

NEW BUTTONS

Here are two large buttons with black leatherette wound around them in different styles. They are very well made and have a plastic back.

NEW BUTTONS

These three buttons were also bought at The Button Shop, Malvern where a lot of their buttons are imported from Italy, Germany and Switzerland. They are good quality buttons. These are nice examples. The first is gold metal with red cord trim, the third also is metal with red enamel. The centre one is plastic.

NEW BUTTONS

Here are three colourful buttons which I bought at The Button Shop, Malvern in 2012. They are of some type of plastic with a swirly pattern and some fine glitter inclusions.

NEW BUTTON

Here is a triangular shaped plastic button in a purple colour. It has a black central disc featuring an intricate design in purple, green and orange. It is rather striking and jumped out at me in the shop. It is quite large at 4 cm.

CELLULOID BUTTON

I think this is a Celluloid button. It is black and cream and in an Art Deco style with a geometric design. It has a brass loop shank and measures 3 cm.

STONE BUTTON

This is a Chinese toggle button made of local Songhua stone. It is a modern button and has been carved in a geometric pattern with a triangular shape. The carving is more distinct than shows in the picture.

HORN BUTTONS

Here are two blonde horn buttons from the 19th Century. They have a silver inlaid floral design which is quite detailed. It doesn’t show up so well in the photo but they are rather nice.

MODERN BUTTON

This modern domed button features a rabbit in black and white from the story Alice in Wonderland. It is nicely illustrated and is just a bit of fun.
