Here is a Mother of Pearl button set in silver which comes from Persia. It has been painted with two figures and is quite crudely made. I feel it has a certain charm about it just the same.

Here is another enamelled brass button. It is royal blue on one side and white on the other. The button is divided by a brass scrolly section making it quite ornate. Each side has flowers and leaves enamelled in it. This button is quite different to any I have seen and is very pleasing to the eye.

This glass button is the most beautiful rich burgandy red colour. It has an interesting design and is topped off with some gold lustre on the circles in the middle. I would be quite happy to have it in my collection but it belongs to my friend Meg. Aren’t all the different button designs amazing.

This quartet of Ceramic buttons were made in England. They are modern and feature birds in a floral design. The square shape adds to their uniqueness. The backs are terracotta coloured. I think they are rather pretty.

Here are two more beautiful enamelled brass buttons both with blue and pink flowers which stand out nicely against the black background. One has the addition of a butterfly. It also has a pierced border with cut steels which add a nice finish. The other one has a decorative enamelled border. What a great pair they make.

Here are two beautiful enamelled brass buttons. One features a bird in amongst some pink flowers and has a cut steel border. The other has a butterfly and flowers. It has an inner scrolly brass border which is then surrounded by a paste border. They belong to my friend Meg who has some wonderful buttons in her collection.

Here is a small group of various glass buttons. They were given to me by my button friend Meg. There are some clear glass, black glass with silver lustre and some coloured ones with flowers painted on them amongst others. They are a nice addition to my collection.

These two modern Watch Crystal buttons are new to my collection. They were made in Czechoslovakia. One is a clockface with a lady in a large feathered black hat. The other has a young girl in a green cape holding some holly in her hand. They are just a bit of fun.

This glass button is painted yellow on the back. The front has a floral design painted in red and green. It is a sort of Art Nouveau style and has a brass loop shank.

Here are two plastic (possibly bakelite) buttons from about the 1950’s. They are both red with a brass centrepiece with a flower like design. They are quite large at 3 1/2 cm.
