Here is a metal button which has been painted black on the background. The geometric design stands out nicely in the gold relief. It measures 1 1/2 cm so is not very big.


I feel that these two buttons may be acrylic but am not sure. The gold circular pattern stands out nicely against the black background. They are more 2018 Opp shop finds.

Here is a small brass button measuring 1 1/2cm. It features an anchor which sits on a blue tinted background.

These two little imps have a cheeky look about them and make quaint buttons. They are not very functional but more for a craft project, e.g. a child’s library bag.

This wooden button has a self shank. It has a colourful geometric design painted on it and would look nice on the right fabric. It is a modern button.

This is a tinted and carved button made from bone. It has a rustic look about it and was made in Nepal. It is modern and measures 3 1/2cm.


Here are two different Celluloid buttons, one being a maroon colour. The other one is dark brown with a painted decoration in red with a touch of yellow. It is quite showy.

This black glass button is just over 1 1/2cm in diameter. It is decorated with a dotty pattern in silver lustre and has a self shank.

These three buttons are made from Pearlized plastic and are quite flimsy. They are in a type of scrolly cut out pattern. I can see them on a hand knitted pastel coloured cardigan. Maybe from the 1950’s?

Here is a modern white metal button measuring 3 cm. It has a cut out design with flowers and leaves.
