PIN CUSHION

Here is another of my sewing projects of some years back. I stitched it all by hand and decorated it with a variety of coloured beads and small buttons plus a tassle.

OPP SHOP FINDS

These buttons are Opp Shop finds from 2018. They are two piece buttons having a blue plastic base with a silver coloured diamond trim with the loop shank attached.

METAL BUTTON

This silver button features the Yellow Taxi Cab of the 1920’s. It’s detail is very fine. It was made by Stokes and Sons, Melbourne.

CLEAR GLASS BUTTON

This clear glass button has a reverse painted back in black featuring flowers. It is simple in it’s design but quite effective.

METAL PICTURE BUTTON

This button portrays Fanny Davenport with an umbrella. She was an actress of years gone by. There is a white metal ring showing through the open work border. It measures 2 1/2 cm.

METAL BUTTON

Here is a metal button with a black painted background with a decorative brass trellis and ivy trim. It also has a white metal ring just inside the brass border.

NOVELTY BUTTON

This resin button is surely a bit of fun picturing a realistic Jack in a Box. Wouldn’t it appeal to little children.

NOVELTY BUTTONS

These three Ceramic buttons are sewing related and a realistic shape. They are bright and cheery colours and are purely novelty or craft buttons.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here are three groups of modern plastic buttons that were made in Thailand. They all have some sparkly inclusions in them. I have got them from Opp shops in the last couple of years.

CLEAR GLASS BUTTON

This is a pretty button but does not photograph well. It is of clear glass in the Art Nouveau style with a silver lustre floral pattern.
