Here is a modern enamel button which is very colourful and in a geometric design. In reality the colours are much richer. I think it may be from the 1970s but am not sure. It measures 2 cm. I also think it has been coated in gold.

WOODEN BUTTONS
Here are two modern wooden buttons which have been etched then filled with sepia ink. The designs are very simplistic and show a fish and a yacht. They were given to me by a friend in 2011. They are sew through type and measure 1 1/2 cm.
WOODEN BUTTONS
Here are three wooden buttons that are quite hollowed out and have been painted with two spotted red toadstools. The edge has been painted with brown dashes. They are sew through type and I think fairly old.
PLASTIC BUTTONS
This trio of buttons are of a cream plastic with a white glass centre which has a leaf design in gold. They are a little different and measure just under 3 1/2 cm. I bought them from a lady who had inherited her Aunty’s button box.
METAL BUTTON
This is a white metal button with a black glass with gold lustre centre. The metal border is in a floral design which is quite pretty. It has a metal loop shank.
BUCKLES
Here are three buckles; two plastic and one metal with green glass stones. They are accompanied by an etched brass needle case with a mauve tassel. I have a few needle cases made of various materials and they are interesting.
BRASS BUCKLES
Here are two jazzy brass buckles from the Art Deco period. They are very colourful and striking. The yellow one is of coiled wire and very effective. The green one has a filigree design which is also quite showy. I have quite a nice collection of buckles as well as my buttons and I enjoy them too.

Here are three brass filigree buckles. They are all different shapes and sizes and each has glass stones of various sizes embedded in them. They would give a good look to a dress belt and be a special feature.
BUCKLE
Here is a brass buckle with an Egyptian influence. It has four stones of jade and is quite ornate. It measures 9 cm x 4 cm. There was a period when Egyptian style was fashionable.
BUTTON CARD
Here is an original old button card with the beautiful art work of the time and the wording on the back. There are twelve utilitarian pearl buttons attached which have never been used. They were made in the U.S.A. If you buy buttons on a card these days there is no nice artwork, just another sign of the times.
