GLASS BUTTONS

These two glass buttons are small and ball shaped with a metal loop shank.  On the top they have a coloured incised design of flowers on a gold background.  They are quite colourful.

HAND PAINTED GLASS BUTTONS

These three glass buttons seem to have a Japanese influence in the design painted on them with writing symbols too.

They really took my fancy with their bright colours.  They have a metal four way box shank and measure just under 1  1/2cm.

GLASS BUTTONS

This little group of glass buttons are a greyish mauve colour.

One has gold lustre and two have silver.  The one with the flower like design has three holes which is a little unusual.  Apart from the one with the gold which is smaller, they are all 1  1/2cm in diameter.

GLASS BUTTONS

What a lovely bright group of glass buttons with a swirly pattern. They look so different because of all the various colour combinations painted on them but are in fact all the same design.  The base glass colour is different on them too.

They are just over 2  1/2 cm in diameter and have a metal four way box shank. I guess they could be from the 1920’s.

GLASS BUTTON

This realistic glass flowers button has been painted in mauves and purples.

It would be really nice if the paintwork was in better condition but I got it in an opp shop so didn’t pay much for it.

GLASS BUTTON

This yellow glass button is nice and bright and quite pretty with the band of white enamel and little flowers.

It has a four way metal box shank and is an unusual shape.  Yellow glass buttons are not as common as other colours; probably like orange, not being a popular colour.  To me though it is a happy colour and would look lovely on the right garment.

GLASS BUTTON

This button with a combination of grey and green with some gold has a pleasing Art Nouveau design.

It has a metal four way box shank making it quite old. It is just under 2 cm.
