Here are four glass realistic buttons depicting parrots. They are of blue glass with yellow paint added and were made in Germany. They would not be a very practical button because of the shape but are different.

This card is The Princess Buttons made in England. They are made from Pure Irish Linen and the size is 24 lines which measures 15 mm. It is interesting to see the style of advertising on this card.

This is a Latest Style original button card with twelve hexagonal shaped paste buttons which measure 1 cm. Twelve buttons was a common number to sell on cards back then. How things have changed.


The black “jewel” in this button sets it off nicely. The button is brass with a very decorative design and a narrow “pleated” border. It measures 3 1/2cm. It is from the late 1890’s.

Here is a black octagon shaped bakelite button. It has a realistic brass leaf adorning it which is very showy. It is a chunky button and has a metal loop shank. It is new to my collection.

Here is a modern metal button which has been enamelled in black. The central decoration has red, green and yellow trim with an imitation clear glass stone in the middle. It is quite a striking button.

La Mode Textures is the brand of this Ceramic button which was made in China. I bought it in 2004. La Mode buttons are The Fashion Choice since 1877 and made for Blumenthal Lansing Co. of USA. That is what it states on the back of the card.

Here is an original button card with two enamel buttons. They depict The Queen of Hearts and are quite colourful. Being rectangular shaped makes them just a bit different. I do not know their age but guess maybe the 1970’s !

This enamel button has a simple geometric design in the colours of blue and black. It has a brass base which is common in enamelled buttons. It measures 2 cm.


Here are two more Beutron delights cards of buttons from the 2007 -2008 period. They are quite dramatic with their strong colours and straight lines. They were also made in Thailand.
