This button is a Bimini glass button with gold lustre. It is typical of this type of button with it’s brass plate and loop shank attached to the back. It is backmarked MADE IN ENGLAND and has the trade mark of a flower in a pot.

Here are two carved bakelite buttons. Their designs are a quite modern style and they are very chunky. Both buttons have a brass loop shank.

Here is a painted brass button with a geometric design. It has a lot of pierced work on it which makes it rather showy. The paintwork is not too badly worn which is good. It measures a little over 2 1/2 cm.

This enamelled brass button has a royal blue centre with pink roses painted on it. The border is quite a mixture of colours and patterns and is unusual. It is an odd combination.

Here are two more new Plastic buttons with a similar theme. They have areas of textured black and white in circle like shapes and are quite effective. They are sew through type. I have just purchased them.

These two new plastic buttons are very striking with their black and white geometric patterns. They are made in layers of black and white. They are sew through type and measure 2 1/2 cm.

This is a new Plastic button which I have just bought. It is very effective with it’s patched pattern of blue and aqua broken up by silver lines. The back is black and it measures 2 1/2 cm. It is nicer in reality.

This painted brass button has an Art Nouveau flavour about it. There are three painted bell like flowers and the pierced work shows daisy flowers. It is in fairly good condition and measures 2 1/2 cm.

Here are three white metal buttons which I purchased in 2010. They were made in Italy and France and are reproductions of buttons made in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. They are three very different designs each lovely in their own way. They each have a metal loop shank.

Here is a nice square enamel button with black and white enamel. There is a pretty pink flower on the white background. The contrast of the black and white is quite dramatic.
