PLASTIC BUTTONS

These little white plastic buttons are quite pretty with their flower like shape. They have a self shank and they were given to me by a lady who let me go through her button jar. It is always nice when that happens. I guess they may be from about the 1950’s.

SKETCH BOOK

Here are two more sketches from my sketch book and they portray an old shed and tankstand near Bright and an old stone shed at Casterton. They measure 12 cm x 9 cm so are not very big.

SKETCH BOOK

It is time for a change again from buttons so here are two sketches from my current book. They are done with water colour and coloured pencils and are of old buildings seen on my travels. These are from Buda House, Castlemaine, Victoria.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

Here is a group of old blue plastic buttons. They are dome shaped with lines running around them and have a rather long self shank. My guess is that they could be from the 1940’s – 50’s.

GLASS BUTTON

Here is a red glass button in a triangular shape. It has a decorative border in gold lustre which makes it very striking. It has a self shank and measures 2 cm.

GLASS BUTTONS

These two buttons are of clear glass with a swirly design in gold lustre. They have a self shank and measure a little over 1 1/2cm.

WOODEN BUTTON

Here is a laminated wooden button in two blues and the natural wood where it has been cut away. It would make a nice addition to a blue garment.

CERAMIC BUTTONS

These two Ceramic buttons are modern. One is cream with lines glazed across it. The other one is black with fawn zig zag lines. It has a very high glaze. They are both sew through type.

VEGETABLE IVORY BUTTONS

Here is a nice little group of small dyed vegetable ivory buttons. Some have designs presssed into them while others have been carved. The natural colour is a deep cream and it dyes well. The natural colour shows on the back where the holes are drilled after being dyed.

CERAMIC BUTTON

This Ceramic button is cream with a linear design in green and dots of green and brown. It has a crisp look and is a sew through type. The holes are quite large. It measures a little over 2 cm.
