GLASS AND METAL BUTTON

This button has an unusual shape with gold metal encasing small diamond like stones. The centre is a domed piece of iridescent dark glass. It is a modern button and has a metal loop shank.

PASTE BUTTON

This Paste button is in the shape of a flower and is very sparkly which does not photograph well. The inner section has large facetted glass stones which offset the outer small ones. It is quite heavy and has a metal loop shank.

CASEIN BUTTONS

Here are two more Casein buttons from the Art Deco period. They are both black and cream which was very popular during that period. The designs are very geometric. They both have a metal loop shank.

CASEIN BUTTONS

Here are two casein buttons from the 1930’s. They are in black and white and quite smart. One is a sew through type and the other has a metal loop shank. They measure a little over 2 cm.

NEW BUTTON

Here is a new plastic button (acrylic I think) It has the effect of a tiny sea creature embedded in glass. It is a sew through button and the square shape makes it just a bit different.

WOODEN BUTTON

This octagon shaped wooden button is painted in green with blue and rust in a linear pattern. Some of the paint is worn but that comes with age, The back is just the blonde wood colour.

METALIZED PLASTIC BUTTON

This Metalized Plastic button resembles a black glass button with silver lustre from the early 1900’s. The flowery design with curved lines is very effective. It is a modern button.

PLASTIC BUTTONS

These two buttons are of the same design but different colours. The shield like feature is painted on in gold on one and silver on the other. They measure 3 1/2cm.

METAL AND PLASTIC BUTTONS

These four buttons have a look of the 1930’s – 40’s. They are made of red plastic encased in tin leaving a square opening. They are simple in design but would look very showy on the right garment.
